All materials within were used for David’s application into the Shaler Area HighSchool HOF. David was a first ballot inductee and when you read over his accomplishments you will immediately see why. David’s HOF Summary of Achievements

David Sibenac attended Shaler area schools from Kindergarten thru his senior year of High School and he graduated from Shaler HS in 2003.

 

Highlights of David’s High School sporting career at Shaler 2000-2003:

·       David played 3 sports through all 4 years of HS.
(Wrestling, Football, Baseball)

·       He lettered a total of 8 times at Shaler

o   3-football, 2-baseball, 3-wrestling

·       In his senior year he was elected captain for both football and wrestling

·       In his senior year he was awarded MVP for both football and baseball

·       He was elected into the “all-decade” football team from 2000-2010

·       In 2000 David was awarded the Fred Ford award for most improved wrestler

·       In 2001 he finished runner-up in section 7 wresting for 145-pound class

·       In 2003 he finished runner-up in section 7 wrestling for 171/189-pound class

·       In 2003 the baseball team finished runner-up in WPIAL championship

·       2003 section 7 champions lead the team in RBI’s

·       2003 second team all section catcher (behind Neil Walker)

·       2000 lead the football team in sacks with 5

·       2003 lead the team in tackles and sacks.

·       2003 selected to the football WPIAL vs city all-star game

 

Post High School

David attended California University of Pennsylvania from 2004-2007

·       David played baseball all 4 years and lettered 4 years

·       David’s Team won the PSAC West conference all 4 years

·       State champions in 2004

·       David won 2nd team PSAC West all-conference in 2006

Miscellaneous

·       2003 awarded Outstanding Young Citizen Award by Tribune Review

·       Award: Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association (PWCA)

o   Outstanding Achievement in Academics and Wrestling 2003

·       One football game, the kicker got hurt and the coaches chose David to kick (never kicked before).

o   David went 2 for 2 on extra points.

o   David was 0 for 1 in field goals and hit the left guard in the butt (my favorite story)😊
